A journalist explained why Portland management won't trade LaVine to Chicago FC
North American journalist and PHLY Sports columnist Kyle Neubeck spoke on the PHLY Philadelphia Sixers Podcast about the Portland Trail Blazers' possible interest in Chicago Bulls star offensive guard Zach LaVine.
"Many sources during the offseason indicated that the Trail Blazers showed little interest in Zach LaVine, but Portland has a young backcourt in the form of Scoot Henderson and Anfernee Simons, around which the team will be built," said Neubeck.
Note that the current contract of 28-year-old Lavin is until the end of the season-2026/2027 ($ 48,967,380 - player option). The defenseman is expected to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2027.
Last regular season, Lavin played in 77 games, averaging 24.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists with a 48.5 field goal percentage and 37.5 three-point percentage.
